Yeldon Family Genealogy Forum

Dear Gail,
Hello from Victoria from a fellow Sandgroper. I too am researching the Yeldon family. Being new to this game I need all the help I can get. My gg grandfather was Richard Thorogood Yeldon who was born in London in September 1839. His parents were James Yeldon and Esther Thorogood who were married in Spitalfields church in 1841. Richard married Elizabeth (Guyer) Roberts in 1864 in Sydney. They are both buried in Sydney. My great grandmother was Matilda Yeldon, third child of seven of RTY and Elizabeth, who married George William Stead. They are both buried in Albany. Have you any record of either Richard or Elizabeth arriving in this country? To date I have had no success on this tack. I was also intrigued by the message board titles from some little time ago which were headed "The Royal House of Yeldon 1517AD". Would you be able to shed any light on what it means, please? Looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers, Glenys
