Ferdinand Albert Zabel is my Great-Grandfather. I have a photograph of him with his wife Alice Jane Habersaat and several of their children. My Grandfather, William Mckinley Zabel was one of their younger sons. As I recall some of the other children's names were Nora, Albert, Ethyl, Christian....I need to find that photo for the rest of the names. Alice and Nora went to Mississppi (Biloxi area) and I believe died there. You have relatives living in Nelson, WI who are Albert's children. Several other descendants settled in southern Minnesota. My father was born in North Dakota where the Zabels were living near the Dickinson area in the early 1920's. He had many memories of his grandmother Alice. She was a very strong, opinionated woman who spoke with a German accent though I believe she was born in Wisconsin according to records I've seen.
