I noticed that most of the Zabel's on these message boards are from Prussia. My grandmother came from Tarnawke, which was West Prussia and is now a part of Poland. She was born in 1873 or 1875 (records vary). I do not know her parents names. It was a large family and many immigrated to the USA. Only names I know are brothers William and August and a sister Louisa. She lived in Sharon Wisconsin before settling in Chicago where she married my granfather, Michael (Jacob Michel) Kuechenberg.
