I am descended 10 times from Albrecht through 3 of his sons. I am confused about Albrecht's parents. Articles always say he was the son of a brother of James Sobieski, and therefore a cousin to King Jan III. Genealogy records on the web consistently list his parents as James Sobieski and Theofila Danilowicz, making him a brother of the king, though charts of the Sobieski family show James did not have any brother named Albrecht. I can find only one brother of James, a Jan Sobieski who died before Albrecht was born! So who were really his parents? It seems this info should be readily available since he was so prominent and supposedly of noble lineage. I am wondering if he was illegitimate.
