Dear Jennifer: In reading over the Zabriskie family gen ealogy at the home of Alexander Zabriskie, a good friend of mine, I noted that George Olin Zabriskie, the family genealogist discounted the Sobieski connection. I believe that Albrecht's real surname was Zaborowski and he married Machtelt Vanderlinde.
As I see it, for a while, the fascination with the Sobieski connection was quite rampant. I have a half cousin by the name of Wellington Sobieski McLean ... the result of a marriage between the gg grandfather Allan McLean and Mary Barbara Earle in Queens County NB.
