re. John Zachary family of VA

Is anything concrete known of the ancestry of the John Zachary who died ca. 1794 in Madison Co., (W)VA? I know that he's listed in various places as the son of John Zachary (d. 1756, Caroline Co., VA) and his wife Eleanor and that his birthdate is generally given as 7-Jan-1704/5 in Middlesex Co., VA. Is there any real proof of this? Also, I keep finding directions to websites which indicate that this senior John Zachary (d. 1756) was a son of a Daniel Zachary and that he was born in Philadelphia. Is this supposed to be the same Daniel Zachary who married Elizabeth Lloyd there in 9-Apr-1700? If so, do we have any proof that our Virginia Zacharys are descended from this Daniel -- or of the identity of his first wife, who would have had to be John's mother? Finally, I've also found (on some of these same websites) a chain of descent indicating that Daniel was the son of a Thomas, who was in turn the son of a William Zachary, Jr., who was the son of William Zachary, Sr. What proof is there of this? Is anything known of any of these men, aside from their names, and is anything known of their wives and their families?

Any and all help will be welcome in sorting all of this out.

Thanks,

Jeff Duvall

My interest in the Virginia Zachary's comes out of my descent from Elizabeth Zachary, wife of William Bledsoe, Jr.
