That is very interesting. I have a copy of a letter dated August 1866 from the Pastor J. Henning, in Wotenick, so the family was still in the area in 1865. Although the marriage record is not yet documented, Friedrich TAPPENBECK and Friederike ZILM had their first child in 1843 and the birth of their children are recorded in the church book. I have found in the Schleswig-Holstein area women sometimes retained their maiden name after marriage but have not seen that so far in records from Pommern, but it could be so. I have nothing on Friederike before the children but will look to the church records in Demmin next. Thanks for the information.
