Zimmerly - Canada, United States 1800s

I'm looking for the two lost Zimmerly brothers of my great-great grandfather Samuel James Zimmerly. The family name was originally Zimmerleigh, but was changed when Sam & his brothers came to America (New York.) Sam was born on March 14, 1837 near Pottsdam, Germany. One of his brothers supposidely went to Canada. The other one either stayed back east, or went to the west coast. Sam was a sargeant in Company 1, First California Infantry during the Civil war. He served at Ft. Craig and was sent to Tularosa, NM as an Indian agent. He eventually moved into the Socorro, NM area where many of his decendents still reside (including my maternal grandmother, Pablita Zimmerly Baca.)

If you have any information about Sam's brothers and their families and/or would like to find information about the Zimmerly clan, contact me. I will be setting up an extensive genealogy of my family soon which will include a lot of information about the Zimmerly family.
